Sepher Raziel ha'Malach

Ancient Knowledge

According to mythology, the Sepher Raziel ha'Malach was a book presented to Adam by the "hand of God" via the angel Raziel, and supposedly contains within it all of the knowledge of heaven and earth. Raziel is thought to be the personification of Chokmah or…Divine Wisdom…the quintessential seed of all things. Legend has it that the book's wisdom has influenced the entire history of our planet through the actions of certain individuals who had access to it over the ages such as Enoch, Noah, and Solomon. According to these accounts then, the Sepher Raziel ha'Malach is the first book ever written!

Although full of what many might consider to be simply ancient lore, magic incantations, angelic hierarchy, astrology, social instruction, and numerology, it appears that, at a much deeper level, to be more of a code book for understanding the mechanics of the universe, in other words…how things work. It's poetic wisdom drips like sweet honey from the honeycomb.

Bibliographical information regarding this book is extremely limited. It is mentioned in Gustav Davidson's Dictionary of Angels, in Myths and Legends of Ancient Israel by Angelo Rappaport, and in appendix IV of Aryeh Kaplan's translation of Sefer Yetzirah, which notes 25 various 19th-century editions of the book.

The bibliography of Joshua Trachtenberg's Jewish Magic and Superstition describes a 1701 edition of Raziel ha-Malach published in Amsterdam, and a German rabbinic script that does not correspond throughout with the printed text, but often contains a more complete text.

The introduction of the ancient Hebrew text, The Sword of Moses states that the so-called Sefer Raziel, was the book delivered to Adam by the angel Raziel shortly after he had left Paradise.

In Folklore in the Old Testament, J. G. Frazer notes, "He (Noah) learned how to make it (the ark) from a holy book, which had been given to Adam by the angel Raziel, and which contained within it all knowledge, human and divine… It was supposedly made of sapphires, and carried with Noah on the Ark. Sepher Rezial is also mentioned briefly in James Hastings' Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics.

Whether it is or whether it isn't actually written by God and handed down by an angel as the myths and legends testify…it ,at the very least, represents the uncovered truths and accumulated wisdom handed down through the ages. As such, it was potent enough with truth and value to provide the formal, unchangeable type of instructions computers and other automation require. Many of the arcane symbols used in books like this were later adopted for use in the Atomic Vector, a concept put forth back in the 1940's that launched the modern computer age, and eventually became incorporated into many of today's automated programming languages as operators, including much of the language used in HRT ™ and the production of i-drops ™.
